Mediavine earnings calculator
Mediavine earnings are counted per visit, and what a visit pays changes with your topic, your readers' country and the month on the calendar. Type in your monthly sessions, a session RPM from your dashboard or a cautious guess, and the share of readers in the US, UK, Canada and Australia to see what a month of visits is worth. The forecast below then runs a full year ahead, dipping in January and climbing into the holiday season, so your budget follows the real pattern.
Your next twelve months
Sessions grow at the rate you chose and each month gets a typical ad-market factor. The last quarter pays best; January usually pays least, once advertisers reset their budgets.
Income at higher traffic levels
Niche, reader mix and rates stay fixed while sessions change. Earnings rise in step with visits, so each row shows what the next traffic milestone adds before any rate gains.

Behind the Mediavine estimate
Mediavine talks in session RPM: money earned per 1,000 visits. The estimate takes that rate for your highest-value readers, mixes in a lower rate for the rest, and then moves it up or down for the season.
The seasonal curve is a common display-ad pattern, scaled so the twelve months average exactly to your RPM. After a full year on the network, your own monthly figures will be a better guide.
Mix your readers
Visits from the US, UK, Canada and Australia get the full rate; all other visits get the percentage you set.
blended RPM = session RPM × (tier-one share + (1 − tier-one share) × other readers earn)
Pick the month
Every month has its own factor, running from roughly 0.7 in January up to roughly 1.4 in December.
month RPM = blended RPM × seasonal factor
Price the visits
Sessions divided by 1,000, multiplied by that month's RPM.
monthly earnings = sessions ÷ 1,000 × month RPM
Express it per pageview
Handy when you want to compare with networks that quote rates per page instead of per visit.
pageview RPM = month RPM ÷ pages per session
Run the year forward
Each month adds your growth rate to the sessions and applies its own factor, starting from the month you chose.
sessions next month = sessions × (1 + growth)
Common questions about Mediavine income
What does Mediavine pay for 1,000 sessions?
Topic and reader location matter most. Food and lifestyle blogs with mostly American readers commonly land between $20 and $35 per 1,000 sessions, money and home topics can earn more, and sites read mainly outside the top markets may sit under $10. The number in your own dashboard always beats an average.
Session RPM or pageview RPM: what is the difference?
Session RPM is income per 1,000 visits, however many pages each person opens. Pageview RPM is income per 1,000 pages. Mediavine prefers the session figure because a reader who opens three posts sees more ads, so it rewards strong internal links that a per-page figure can hide.
Why is January so weak?
Advertisers pour money into the last three months of the year for holiday shopping and then pull back hard once January starts. Identical traffic can pay 40 percent less, or worse, in January than in December. The forecast includes that dip so it does not catch you out.
What traffic does Mediavine require?
For years the main Mediavine program has looked for roughly 50,000 sessions a month, and its Journey program serves smaller sites that are still growing. Thresholds change, so read the current rules before applying. Mostly organic search traffic with a solid share of US readers helps your chances.
Why does reader location change income so much?
Advertisers bid highest for US readers, followed by the UK, Canada and Australia. A visit from a lower-spending country may be worth a third of a US visit or less, which is why two blogs with equal traffic can earn very different amounts.
What can I do to lift my Mediavine RPM?
Target topics that rank with American readers, link related posts so people read more than one, and avoid very short posts where ads barely load. Content that peaks in the fourth quarter, like gift ideas or holiday recipes, also lines your busiest traffic up with the best rates.
Is this tool made by Mediavine?
No, it is an independent estimate based on typical session RPMs and seasonal swings. What you are actually paid depends on your ad settings, site speed, readers and the ad market that month, so read the result as a planning range.
