AdSense earnings calculator

Money from AdSense arrives two ways: advertisers pay when their ads are seen, and pay again when a reader clicks. Fill in your daily pageviews, the number of ad units per page, your CPM and your click figures, and the calculator turns them into page RPM plus earnings per day, month and year. The tables below show which tweak is worth the most and how much traffic a given income needs.

Behind the AdSense estimate

A page with AdSense earns from ads that are actually seen, and now and then from a click. Both are calculated, added up and shown as page RPM, the income for every 1,000 pageviews.

Page RPM is the figure worth watching over time, because your layout, your readers and the season are all baked into it.

  1. Count the ads that get seen

Every pageview loads your ad units, but only part of them scroll into view.

impressions = pageviews × ads per page × viewable share

  2. Price the impressions

CPM is what advertisers pay for 1,000 seen ads.

    impression earnings = impressions ÷ 1,000 × CPM

  3. Price the clicks

Clicks per pageview multiplied by what each click pays.

click earnings = pageviews × CTR × CPC

  4. Work out page RPM

All income for every 1,000 pageviews.

    page RPM = (impression + click earnings) ÷ pageviews × 1,000

  5. Extend to months and years

A month counts as 30.4 days and a year as 365.

    monthly = daily × 30.4

AdSense income FAQ

What does AdSense pay for 1,000 pageviews?

Usually something between $1 and $10, which AdSense reports as page RPM. Finance, insurance, law and software content read in the US earns at the top; entertainment, gaming and mostly international audiences earn at the bottom. Use the page RPM from your own reports when you have it.

Is AdSense paid per click or per view?

Both, though in 2024 Google switched AdSense to paying mostly for impressions, with clicks still counting for some ads. That is why this tool shows two parts: impression income from CPM, and click income from click-through rate and cost per click.

How many ad units belong on one page?

Three to five well-spaced units on a long post is normal. Extra units add impressions but can lower what each one fetches, slow the page down and annoy readers. Change one thing at a time and judge it by page RPM, not raw impressions.

What traffic earns $100 a day from AdSense?

Divide 100 by your page RPM and multiply by 1,000. With a $5 page RPM that is about 20,000 pageviews a day, close to 600,000 a month. The table under the calculator does this for several traffic levels.

Why does my real AdSense income come in under the estimate?

The usual causes are many readers from low-paying countries, ad blockers, ad units that rarely appear on screen, and the seasonal slumps in January and the summer. Check the CPM and click-through rate in your reports against what you typed in.

Is there a better-paying option than AdSense?

With steady traffic, networks such as Ezoic, Mediavine and Raptive often earn more per pageview because more advertisers compete for each slot. Our website ad revenue calculator compares them on your traffic.

Does Google make this calculator?

No, it is an independent estimate. Google does not publish AdSense rates, and real earnings depend on your content, readers, layout and advertiser demand.
